We are super excited and delighted to announce the arrival of “Kit Harrington R’Ose” from France to The Connemara Pony National Stud in Ireland.

Kit is the very first Class 1 Stallion in Ireland by the legendary Performance Stallion “GOLIATH VAN DE GROENWEG”.

Goliath van de Groenweg has jumped no fewer than 6 European championships in Belgian and Danish colors. (2011 in Jaszkowo, 2013 in Arezzo, 2014 in Millstreet where he took 2nd place individually, 2015 in Malmö, 2016 in Aarhus Wilhelmsborg and 2018 in Bishop Burton). Goliath van den Groenweg also has numerous victories at national and international level, including winning the GP of CSIOP in Wierden for 2 consecutive years. He was crowned Belgian champion in 2011, won the Belgian Cup, was classified in the GP of CSIOP in Lamprechtshausen, 6th and then 3rd in the GP of CSIP in Moorsele. He became 2nd in the Nations Cup of CSIOP in Wieden, 3rd in that of Bonheiden plus many more accomplishments and has represented and competed successfully under several international riders. He is one of the best representatives of his breed at a high level in recent years.

Goliaths Sire: Conor Mac Nessa is one of the founding stallions of the Belgian Connemara stud book.  He also produced the stallions Aston du Langwater and Heros van de Groenweg but also Landgraf van de Groenweg (IPO 121 & IPC 118).

The sire of Goliath’s mother is Coosheen Finn, Winner of the Open Stallion Class, Clifden Show 1978 and sire of many Show Champions.

Kit’s Dam – “Reinete Dela Buqueuse” – was a successful Show jumper who competed to 1.15/1.20 and had an IPO of 141, her Dam was Nadia who also a Show jumper who had competed to 1.20m, Reinete’s Sire “Fricotin” was also a CSIP Show jumper.

Born in the Blue bloodline, Kit has a pedigree of performance on both sides; his sire is one of the best performance ponies in Europe and his Dams side also possessing some of the finest French Showjumpers and Grand Prix ponies.

Kits Great Grand Dam – Vinca II – is also the mother of the national performing stallions Don Juan V IPO 135, Eloi IV, double Champion of France D1 Elite IPO 152 and Leadership IPO 142 and of the performers Bacchus, European Championship CSO, Kendor IPO 139. She is also the full sister of the international winner in CCE Quintette III who produced the stallions Funambule II and Jousselin IPO 146.  Vinca II also won the aged broodmare class at the Connemara National in 2004.
